About the Author
Dani B Johnson was born and raised in Germany until her 18th birthday, when she moved to London to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Arts. After having worked across a variety of industries as an editor. content manager and copywriter, she settled within Digital Marketing as the career of her choice.
However like so many others, Dani actually dreamt of being a writer from a very young age. She wrote fictional stories about people, ghosts and even aliens at a young age, but one topic that stuck with her, was animals.
Dani started horse riding when she was only six years old and her love for horses has prevailed ever since. It was her desire to one day own her own stables, that led her to purchase a house in South Wales with a small yard, which eventually became the "Waterford Stables" we know today.
About the Goat
Founding Waterford Stables was never a precise plan, but as it happened, Dani purchased her very first pony - another childhood dream finally fulfilled - within just 6 months of purchasing her house and smallholding.
From there, more animals came to Waterford Stables, some purchased and some rescued - Including Bitzy the hornless goat with a stiff leg!
Bitzy had a tough life growing up and was meant to meet a dyer end, due to the severe injuries she obtained as a kid. She was timid, lonely and unsocialised when she came to Waterford Stables, but ever since living with Dani and the other animals, she's become a happy, bright and beloved family favorite.
About the Book
Bitzy's story is one of despair, loneliness and the struggles of living with a disability. But it's also an inspiration to any one animal or person, that needs hope. Hope for better times to come. Hope for tolerance. Hope for acceptance from others. And hope for self-worth.
Dani hopes that sharing Bitzy's story with the world would not only raise awareness but help readers of all ages to understand the potential impact of a disability and what it means for those affected.
Tolerance, the value of self-worth and acceptance are at the heart of this book and we hope that it reaches anyone who is yet to realise how cool it is to be different.
